WEEK 1

WordUP (aka Bible Study) doing some old school Sword Drills with some old & new kids 📖. #ReachAChild

Thankful for our past children/youth who are now either first-time volunteers or returning employed StreetLeaders 🦸🏽‍♀️. Also thankful for some new faces on the team 🦸🏽‍♂️! #RaiseALeader

Bringing back some feeling of normalcy by gathering & playing safely outdoors in our own @TorontoHousing neighbourhood 😷. #RestoreCommunity

WEEK 2

Weekly WordUP 📖 but this time learning while playing Family Fued. #ReachAChild

StreetLeader team-building workshop on “Getting Aligned”, practicing being on the same page by listening well while gradually adding obstacles & distractions. 🗣 #RaiseALeader

Playing real-life #AmongUs while bringing back more feelings of normalcy by gathering together, letting kids be active kids & playing safely outdoors in our own @TorontoHousing neighbourhoods 😷. #RestoreCommunity

WEEK 3

Weekly WordUP praying for & with the kids/youth after studying God’s Word together. 🙏🏽 #ReachAChild

StreetLeader workshop “Minefield Adventure” on learning to lead & learning to be led by others. Also, understanding what it is like to depend & trust in God as well as the community team or church He provided while overcoming obstacles together. ⛪️ #RaiseALeader

Playing #WakandaWarriors in small teams spread out in a large outdoor field as I chased them to different stations as Klaw. #ActiveTO 🏃🏽 Thankful for financial & gifts-in-kind supporters who give us the means to have tents ⛺️, masks 😷, cleaning supplies 🧽🧻🧹 & sanitizers 🧼 in order to safely gather outdoors as we #RestoreCommunity.

WEEK 4

“Build A Skill” #PassionProjects led by our awesome team of StreetLeaders & still leading WordUP (Bible Study) object lessons with small group discussions. 🏀🎨🕺🏽🎤📖 #ReachAChild

StreetLeader workshop “Tangrams”, learning that every different piece even in different seasons is still valuable for the whole big picture & that every leader, role & responsibility fits into the “One Body” when we follow Christ. ⛪️ #RaiseALeader

THANK YOU again to the many church partners for helping us run camp safe & fun…who would’ve thought we’d be so happy celebrating donated cleaning supplies!?!? LOL 🤣🧽🧻😷 #RestoreCommunity.

WEEK 5

This week during “Build A Skill” #PassionProjects…we sometimes sketched for the kids during art ✍️, tried a new sport in tennis 🎾 thanks to @TennisCanada, & added more to the dance choreography…again, all led by our awesome team of StreetLeaders. #ReachAChild

StreetLeader workshop “Ideal Team Player”, via a 4-way-tug-of-war, we learned about balancing the different attributes of being Humble, Hungry & Smart while also seeking our true source of power from God! 👏🏽 #RaiseALeader

We had a big Scavenger Hunt 🕵🏽‍♀️🔎 with WordUP (Bible Study) trivia 📖 as well as a Water Games Day 💦 🔫 around our @TorontoHousingneighbourhoods…enjoying the weather, family, friends, growth, laughter, being outdoors & active. Also, we finally got new basketball rims!!! 🏀 #RestoreCommunity

WEEK 6

Boys’ & Girls’ Day planned & led by our StreetLeaders doing different activities that we all enjoy with our kids. Board/card/video games, basketball, spa station, “Champion’s Champagne” with snacks, dance, etc. 🎮🏀💅 #ReachAChild

Some of our graduated children/youth became volunteer leaders for the first time, some returned for another season with paid opportunities & some others took on more hours with even more responsibilities. We are so thankful to God for this summer’s team! 📈📈📈 #RaiseALeader

For our incentive program, our kids didn’t just individually collect points but they also won points in their small groups…the groups didn’t just win points for their teams but they also won points as a whole camp. Thus creating a balanced culture of healthy competition & collaboration as well as lots of cheering! All of them were rewarded a trip to @SkyZone & a big lunch party! 🥳🍕🍦#RestoreCommunity

Summer Camp 2021 was a success, praise God! I hope you caught on the Mission Statement theme as you read the summarized weeks of camp. Now that it is done, I invite you to please pray & consider partnering with me this upcoming school season as this is a relationship-based & support-raising position.

I need to continually build my team of "Promise Partners" who regularly pray for us & provide stable funding for our After School Programs, seasonal camps like this past Summer Camp, Passion Programs & more. This commitment allows the children & their families to play, learn & have fun. It also provides me with a lot more freedom to share God's Love & Hope by spending less time on fundraising for my monthly goal. Promise Partners really help #MultiplyTheImpact on our organization's Vision & Mission.

Thankful for those who have already subscribed & responded to my newsletter updates by giving unselfishly, either financially or gifts-in-kind, during & because of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the recent injustices impacting our society.
