“Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” -- Rita Pierson (Ted Talk)

On Sunday, October 18, 2020…I will be participating in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Virtual Race 15K! My route will START from my supporting home church of Morningstar Christian Fellowship after their 9 AM service and FINISH at my site called Camp Hope. I am raising funds for UrbanPromise Toronto #RunForPromise2020 with my own personal goal of $5,000.

I invite you to please pray and consider taking this opportunity to be a 'champion' for children and youth in Toronto Community Housing. Please support me as we run for them by making a secure online donation to my fundraising page when clicking the photo below:

YOU CAN ALSO JOIN OUR TEAM!!!

It can be difficult to know how to respond to the needs we see in our city. Most of us recognize the weight of the obstacles faced by children in Toronto Community Housing, but we simply don't know what we can do to help. This can make us feel powerless or disconnected. It can prevent us from doing anything at all.

UrbanPromise Toronto reaches children with the love of Jesus and raises them into leaders who restore their community. Our approach is a 20-year journey with a child and their family forming meaningful relationships focusing on spiritual, social and educational growth.

For the past 12 years, Run for Promise has provided a tangible way for you to get involved. This year the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon has transitioned to a Virtual Race with the following distances: 42K | 21K | 10K | 5K | and options for a Marathon Relay, combinations of races, as well as a youth category.

We are encouraging you to participate on the weekend of October 17 & 18th, however, the Virtual Race allows you to run/walk your distance anytime and anywhere between October 1 – 31, 2020.

Our goal is to have over 100 participants raising $90,000.

This is your opportunity to be a ‘champion’ for children and youth living in Toronto Community Housing. Who will you run for?
