Sometimes we like to take our neighbours, their kids & their leaders out of what they are normally used into something totally new & different. We immerse them into other cultures by mainly expanding their taste buds/palate first which then helps them explore the history, art & music through the restaurant's ambience.
"Breaking bread breaks down barriers..."
...to grow in relationship with each other & with Jesus.
Please enjoy & support our local restaurants featured in order of the video:
Jatujak (Thailand)
Jollibee (Filipino fast food)
CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice (Taiwan)
Seafood City Supermarket (Philippines)
Mama's Boys Burgers (Greek fast food)
(The rolling end credits feature my prayer requests)
Please Pray:
Spiritual Growth - many opportunities to listen, discuss with some Scripture, then pray for each other's prayer requests.
Leadership Development - SLs (StreetLeaders) mentor YMAD (Youth Making A Difference) who are in our S.I.T. (StreetLeaders-In-Training) program. Lots of conversations on what it means to be a good man of God, role model, future husband & future father.
Obstacles - Consistent space to re-gather safely in order to enhance social & educational growth. Strong need for male mentors.
Praises - Hunger to be in community. They feel comfortable, safe, understood, valued & accepted. Parents are thankful. Gospel is fluent & almost expected in organic interactions.
If you would like to see more of this during & after March Break Camp, I invite you to please pray & consider partnering with me as this is a relationship-based & support-raising position. I need to continually build my team of Promise Partners — monthly supporters who financially help us which in turn helps support the vision & mission of the programs we provide for the children, youth & their families in our community.
Praise God, I am now just praying for 20+ new Promise Partners at $36/month which represents the hours of 3 PM - 6 PM, when children in Toronto Community Housing are the most vulnerable. It also costs us about $36/child/month to run a program.
